Questions People Always Ask

Respect privacy – Most people are sensitive being photographed; we always ask first. We are perceptive of our own cultural values and adapt to the situation, rather than the other way around. Rural villagers and natives have different concepts of time, personal space and communication, which are not inferior, just different. We are there to learn from them.

Support local economy – This is the integral purpose. We use local services and buy local products whenever possible. This provides an extra economic source and helps to protect natural environment from disappearing in the name of livelihood. Where possible, we utilize what is locally available, eg, boats, catering services, campsites .. etc However, we do not encourage participants to buy souvenirs or eat food made from endangered flora and fauna.

Blend in – We keep to designated trails because it easy to get lost in the maze of rainforest. Also, we may accidentally tramp on rare plants and flowers if we stray off. We keep our voice and footsteps noise to the minimum; it maximizes our chances of spotting wildlife. It is usual for the locals to be wary of outsiders but a smile can work wonders where words fail. We are courteous and do not expect special privileges.

We promote unsung regions and encourage urbanites to take the path less ordinary. This augurs well with our key objective of bringing more economical spread to rural communities who keep our country’s natural forest, tradition and heritage alive. Part of the profit is used to fund books, school fees and educational tools for children in the outskirts.

Go with the experts – All our outfitters are well mannered, knowledgeable, cultured and outdoor savvy to match the accolades of the trails. They are fluent in English to ensure participants enjoy a lively and informative journey. They will help you identify plants, wildlife, sea life and just about everything there is to know about the eco-system that forms the lungs of our country. We help participants to get to know the history and information about the site we are visiting. There are many hidden allures that can go un-noticed by an untrained eye.

Safety and honest pricing – Off-grid travels have challenges and safety should never be compromised by cost. We use quality gears, equipment, vehicles and intrepid staffs who are also fluent in various native dialects to ensure participants are well received in forest tribal and countryside villages. We never pass group over to the cheapest sub-contractors, freelancers, van drivers or taxi men like many tour providers do to cut cost. We do everything ourselves.

Small group journeys – We play host to group size as few as 1, 2 or 10 persons. Everyone knows venturing into off-road locales steeped in hidden gems present a whole new set of challenges. Hence, the small group style is ideal to experience the thrills, minus the frills. Small group travelling ….

Rural kids walk for miles to school everyday, some barefooted. Towns and cities depict Malaysia’s modernity but a glimpse of the rural countryside puts things into perspective.
